This kit does not come with a drying weight. You can set the smaller tray on the seeds in the larger tray and use it as a drying weight as needed.

Unlike simply leaving wet seeds out to air-dry, these trays are specifically designed to pull moisture away from the seeds, helping speed the drying process considerably. Depending on the type of seed and its moisture level, some seeds may be ready for storage or replanting in hours rather than weeks.

### How to use your seed drying tray

Simply place your seeds on a layer of cheesecloth, then place the cheesecloth on the tray. Cover the seeds with another layer of cheesecloth if desired.

Start checking your seeds after about 4 hours. Drying time varies depending on the seed, how wet it is, the amount of seed being dried, and environmental conditions.

If you are not using a weight, turn the seeds over periodically to encourage even drying. When using a weight, turning is not be necessary.

Once your seeds are completely dry, they can be prepared for long-term storage or future planting.
